Background/IRC Summary: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worsthumanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.
Working in coordination with the humanitarian community the IRC has been providing assistance from Jordan to vulnerable peoples living in southern Syria. The IRC’s assistance to southern Syria program is primarily focused on health. The IRC continues to support facilities through sub-partner engagement to provide commodities as well as incentives.
Job Overview/Summary: The Cross-Border Monitoring Assistant will be the program’s focal point in monitoring medical shipments, submitting important payments and in enforcing financial regulations for the IRC health programming, and will be responsible for the maintenance, including safe keeping, and reconciliation of all finance data related to the health program. The Cross-Border Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all procedures and processes are in line with the planned budget and other vendor and donor agreements as well as the IRC’s internal standards and operation procedures.
The Cross-Border Monitoring Assistant will sit within the Cross-Border Health Program in the IRC Jordan Country Office in Amman, and will work in close proximity with the Jordan Country Office Finance Department, Supply Chain Department, and the Sub-Grants Department to ensure that the standard operating procedures are being followed by both the implementing partners and the vendor partners, as well as the Finance and Supply Chain departments.
