1. Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
• Line management of CC project field staff
• Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
• Contribute to CC strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps
• Manage and implement delegated portfolio of Camp Shelter projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from PM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality
• Provide regular progress reports to PM (AM and CCS if no PM)
• Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
• Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
• Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
• Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
• Promote the rights of refugees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall operation and management of 4 departments in Za’atari. They are each individually managed by experienced Team Leaders who have a combined staff of over 40.
• Directly manage the Reception Area, Common Humanitarian Distribution Centre (CHDC), NFI Centre and Community Relations.
• Directly responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of assigned activities in line with core competency strategy and country standards.
• Represent NRC at camp level coordination fora as and when delegated by the Project Manager
• Manage the output of NRC’s Reporting Officer and ensure all information is accurate, relevant and submitted on-time,
• Liaise with M&E to ensure PDMs are undertaken in-line with programming issues,
• Identify implementation challenges and opportunities and raise these to the Project Manager
• Draft concept papers, proposals for new activities complementing the on-going shelter project, in coordination with the Project Manager
• Supervise the budget lines for above activities and monitor expenditure. Meet on a monthly basis to review budget versus actual expenditure for all projects and donors funding activities.
• Manage staff performance using NRC’s Performance Management system
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to the project team on relevant aspects of project activities.
• Maintain NRC’s position as a key actor vis-à-vis the local authorities.
• In consultation with the Project Manager, manage daily relationship with stakeholders at the field level and represent NRC in field level meetings/coordination.
• Ensuring project progress is documented, integrating sound M&E procedures in all aspects of the shelter project.
• Draft donor reports, in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Contribute to the development of NRC’s strategy and priorities for the increased environmental integration into NRC Jordan programme.
