The Workshop Technical Assistant will assist the Shelter Officer in the management of the workshop and construction materials stock. The Workshop technical assistant will manage production processes of all prefabricated elements in the workshop.
1. Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
• Identifies gaps, problems in the implementation area of own activities.
• Develops own weekly activity planning.
• Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to daily labours and/or contractors and evaluates individual performance.
• Monitors the progress of activities of assigned daily labour and or contractors and ensures they are implemented conform planning and quality standards.
• Adheres to NRC policies CC tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
• Prepares and files accurate records of project activities and ensures all information is accurate and available in time.
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, the phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
• Prepare detailed plans for project production and ensure follow up and updating of the plan during production (implementation)
• Keep records of all incentive labor working with the team with the description of the activities conducted, details of the incentive labor.
• Ensure all the received materials are according to the requested specification and quantities.
• Reporting work progress on the daily, weekly or monthly basis as it will be agreed with the line manager based on the available workload and based on the nature of the given task.
• Following up with labors and making sure that all requested tasks are done based on the agreed specifications, requirements and on time.
• Reporting all challenges faced or expected to be faced during your work.
