Job Summary
Design, write and produce user’s guides and other information about iHorizons solutions. These manuals reduce the overall cost of supporting by helping users become self-sufficient in handling the most common tasks for which these solutions were developed. Responsible for following defined style guidelines, and works closely with the User Experience manager to ensure the help content is complete and meets quality standards and user experience requirements.
Functions and Responsibilities
Writing content for help and documentation materials.
Working with the Sales and User Experience team leaders to revise and finalize content.
Helping to design help and documentation products.
Collect user feedback on documentation and help.
Updating existing documentation as necessary.
Develop documentation and help tests and metrics.
Perform and interpret documentation and help tests results.
Researching IHorizons software products. This includes talking to knowledgeable staff, such as programmers and product managers, attending development and design meetings, playing with the software, and reading software specifications and other design documents.
Building online help based on approved content. The technical writer works within established guidelines to create the online help files.
Consults with Developers and PM to Keep training material current.
