The Fleet Team Leader will support fleet activities in Amman and the NRC field offices and ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective management of NRC Vehicles & Drivers for all ongoing NRC programmes.
1. Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
• Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to staff, specifies their individual work plans and evaluates individual team member’s performance. Or Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to daily labors and/or contractors and evaluates individual performance.
• Supports the assigned NRC staff in their professional development, identifies training needs, and supports staff to achieve the objectives defined in their learning development plans.
• Monitors the progress of the activities of assigned staff or Dailey labor and/or contractors and ensures they are implemented conform planning and quality guidelines Or Manages progress of own activities and adjusts planning if needed
• Develops Monthly activity plans.
• Monitors compliance with NRC policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines.
• Implements systems and procedures conform NRC Policies, SOP's and handbooks Provides assistance, information and/or training to staff and managers on department’s policies and procedures.
• Identify, analyse and evaluate processes and gaps in the implementation of own activities and make recommendations for improvement.
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
• Line Manage all NRC drivers in their area of responsibility.
• Dealing with all transport requests, ad hoc and late requests and confirming bookings.
• Monitoring the fleet pool and all movements and communicating with drivers and other dispatchers.
• Monitoring fuel efficiency, vehicle maintenance, driver road conduct and behavior of all vehicles and drivers under their management.
• Ensure all fleet templates and reports - daily, weekly and monthly are properly completed and submitted on time.
• Follow up on all fleet issues at their location.
• Work with the NRC Jordan security department to implement routines to better track the whereabouts at any one time of NRC vehicles.
• Responsible for the day to day management of the annual rental contract for vehicles - including coordination with the rental company in regards to accidents, insurance claims, new and replacement vehicles.
