Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Communicates with, and obtains information from, people at all levels of society and in varied stakeholder organizations that have knowledge of current events in Syria.
- Tracks and analyzes conflict patterns in Syria and reports on how this may impact SES programming.
- Obtains information from multiple sources (including: people, media, social media, partner organizations, and different IRD teams), and distills this into a clear and concise account of events.
- Writes independent reports in relation to research and analysis findings.
- Works with external stakeholders to obtain and share research findings.
- Assists in the design of data collection, reporting tools and questionnaires.
- Compiles routine weekly, monthly, quarterly, and periodic reports.
- Supports the security function by providing regular reporting and the compilation of incident reports.
- After security incidents have occurred, provides an analysis of what happened and provides ‘lessons learned’ recommendations.
- Assists in the implementation of IRD’s documented procedures in relation to security, safety and incident management.
- Any other task as assigned by the direct supervisor or country program management.
