Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan. IRC’s programs in Jordan focus on urban interventions in the north that address gender-based violence specifically violence against women and girls for Syrian refugees and host community members as well as reproductive health care to Syrian refugees through clinics in Ramtha, Irbid and Mafraq. Since January 2013, IRC also carries out Child Protection programs in Syrian refugee camps, providing specialized services for the identification, support and protection of unaccompanied children (UAC) and other children at risk.
Job Overview/Summary: Under direct support and supervision from the deputy field coordinator, the Operation assistant is responsible for operations and supply chain activities within the camp including procurement, minor maintenance, asset management, monitoring guards, etc. This position is based in Mafraq office, with almost daily movement to Azraq & Zaatari camps.
Major Responsibilities:
Procurement
Focal person from Operations Department for daily procurements within the Camps.
Ensure that procurement is carried out in accordance to IRC and donor-specific policies and procedures.
Ensure that all materials purchased are of appropriate quality and price and are delivered on time.
Monitor delivery of goods to the camp; assist and coordinate transportation of procured items to IRC locations in Azraq & Zaatari camps
Generate all required procurement documentation and submit all records and files to Deputy Field Coordinator for reporting.
Assist in preparing all related documentation to the Guards contracts and payments in the camp i.e. drafting contracts, preparing payment requests.
Ensure office supplies are procured in timely manner and used with efficiency.
