Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan. IRC’s programs in Jordan focus on urban interventions in the north that address gender-based violence specifically violence against women and girls for Syrian refugees and host community members as well as reproductive health care to Syrian refugees through two clinics based in Ramtha and Mafraq. Since January 2013, IRC also carries out Child Protection programs in Syrian refugee camps, providing specialized services for the identification, support and protection of unaccompanied children (UAC) and other children at risk.
Job Overview/Summary:
Will support the Medical Commodity Manager in managing all medical commodities related issues.
Major Responsibilities:
The essential duties for this position will be as following:
Technical
Work in coordination with medical commodity manager to provide support and technical input on all issues relevant to pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment within IRC’s implementing partner facilities, static and mobile as well as the IRC and partner warehouses.
Work in coordination with Medical Commodity Manager to ensure monthly consumption reports from health facilities and analyze the results with collaboration with information management and relations team, in order to determine and customize supply of medical commodities based on actual needs of health facilities.
Ensure the availability of all essential medications in all supported health facilities and avoid stock outs. Collect stock out reports on monthly basis and inform the WH team to provide shipments to those areas.
Ensure the implementation of pharmacies and medical warehouses standards are being applied in the health facilities pharmacies and medical warehouses. Monitor stocks of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies at the IRC warehouse and ensure that stocks are replenished as soon as the identified critical level for a new order is reached.
Perform quality control checks on all items received at the IRC warehouse and prepare a report to be shared with the program and warehouse team.
Conduct warehouse spot checks and ensure the warehouse is up to standard and ensure that drugs, medical consumables and equipment are stored following international standards and guidelines.
Work with the Medical Commodity Manager to support the health team in tracking and supervision of mental health medications at the IRC warehouse and facility level.
Develop and deliver specific supply chain management training for health facility staff, partners and health team. Train facility staff on the prescription of drugs according to treatment guidelines and protocols.
Conduct monthly remote meetings and follow up and get the updates from all health facilities and medical warehouses and follow up for all needed issues.
