• Contribute to the development and updating of the IRD-Al Za'atari Camp Safety & Security Plan, collecting contributions from the field teams, and submitting it to Security Manager and the Camp Manger, Jordan Programs Director's review.
• Oversee the operationalization of the Security & Safety Plan, in particular putting in place the necessary systems and equipment (Communication equipment, Vehicles, Stocks, etc.).
• Conduct regular threats and risks assessments of IRD activities in the camp, identify and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
• Conduct periodic appropriate security assessments of all IRD staff locations in the camp and advice on shortfalls in security preparedness with recommended improvements and solutions.
• Provide all staff and visitors with regular security briefings and updates and ensure that all staffs adhere to security policies and procedures.
• Ensure that staff members are proficient in the use of safety and security equipment, including communications equipment, vehicle emergency equipment and personal security safeguards required for work in the field, in the camp and while traveling to and from the camp.
• Processing and control private vehicle permits for employees and their movements to and from the Zaatari refugee camp
• Be a member of the Field Incident Team and responsible for the practical organization of any relocation or evacuation.
• Provide advice on selection and procurement of appropriate equipment for security (vehicles, telecommunications equipment, etc.); Provide advice on the security of transportation and logistics.
• In cooperation with IRD HR/Administration, ensure the updated staff contact lists and Call tree charts are in place.
• Establish and implement access control mechanisms (visitor/vehicle screening) necessary to all IRD controlled staff locations.
• Coordinate with UNHCR security and Security working group officers in the camp, ensuring updated verified information is shared and evaluated as appropriate.
• Coordination with the Security Manager to support IRD projects for the input materials and permits in the camp and to ensure the safety of IRD staff and to provide advice regarding the security, safety issues.
• Provide timely and accurate security advice and coordination to IRD staff and report all security-related incidents or threats involving IRD staff to the Security Manager, Jordan Programs Director's.
• Responsible for providing weekly, monthly reports of all IRD operations that related of Security and safety in Al- Za'atari camp.
• Reports irregularities, security threats and security breaches utilizing IRD’s incident reporting system.
• Document and retain files on all reported issues, observations and assessments.
• Ensure safety equipment (first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.) is adequately stocked, in proper working condition, and appropriately placed. Collect site security information.
• Ensures technical security measures, such as CCTV and alarms are kept fully function at the office(s).
• Any other tasks as requested by IRD management.
