- Implementing daily operational aspects related to the Jordan component of the programme “Municipal know-how for host communities in the Middle East”, implemented by Engagement Global/Service Agency Communities in One World (commissioner)
- Providing advisory, technical and logistic support for strengthening thematic project partnerships between Jordanian and German municipalities in line with requirements of the commissioner
- Processing technical aspects and further developing the area of responsibility in accordance with the specified quality standards
- Maintaining of a good flow of communication and information between the commissioner, all project partners, involved institutions, counterparts and relevant GIZ projects
- Ensuring that the project office runs smoothly
- Coordinates and assists in preparing, conducting, evaluating and documenting project activities (such as training events, network meetings, forums, workshops, capacity building formats, etc) as part of the partnership component of the project with all management and coordination issues
- Participates in formulating project action plans and helps synchronise the planning, monitoring and budgeting systems
- Helps identify the needs of municipalities and governmental and non-governmental actors which are project partners
- Closely coordinates with other GIZ projects that are targeting (host) municipalities in Jordan
- Acts as project focal point in Jordan. In this capacity, he/she is contact person for the Jordanian municipalities taking part in the project as well as for the local partners of the project (such as MoPIC and MoMA)
- Supports and advises participating municipalities in the initiation and implementation of thematic project partnerships with German municipalities, including the development of project plans
- Regularly consults with the GIZ portfolio manager and the project manager of the commissioner on all project activities:
- develops and maintains contact with all important stakeholders (governmental and non-governmental), involved institutions and municipalities as part of the project
- maintains close communication lines with the project team in Germany and other partner countries of the project (such as Lebanon and/or Turkey)
- maintains close contact with other donors and international programmes supporting host municipalities in Jordan
- provides technical assistance to local and international experts
- ensures knowledge management: collects, processes and distributes relevant information, monitors communication and interaction between government institutions, municipalities and other institutions in the field through analyses of the media, direct dialogue, participation in meetings and seminars etc.
