Job Description
General
- This is a supra regional position based in Amman with coverage to all sites in Near and Middle East (NAME) region.
- Responsible for managing the NAME WAN Regional Services as per established procedures and guidelines.
- Responsible for managing the NAME region Regional Monitoring Services as per established procedures and guidelines.
- Assist to the Head of the ICT Region in the administrative and / or technical tasks
DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
NAME Regional Monitoring Services Management
- Actively participate in the definition and continuous improvement of the Regional ICT Monitoring service for the NAME region.
- Organize the follow-up of the ICT critical services of the ICRC sites of the NAME region, using institutional tools and according to ICRC policies and standards.
- Escalate any impact to the concerned ICT department according to the procedures in place.
- Keep track of open tickets and ensure escalation or closure according to defined deadlines.
- Establish regular and ad hoc reports on the status of the various ICT systems monitored according to templates and actively participate in the follow-up meetings of this service.
- Ensure that the monitoring tools are functional and configured according to the requirements.
- Remaining current, being proactive with regard to the evolution of the device to be monitored, the new technologies, institutional policies and to adapt them to the regional needs.
- Assist any other ICT collaborator in the region with regard to monitoring of ICT infrastructure.
- Participate actively in the continuous improvement of the ICRC's Global Monitoring Service.
NAME WAN Regional Services Management (WRSM)
- Manage ICRC WAN service, RUN and Organic growth in NAME Region
- Act as focal point between NAME region, Global Service Provider (currently OBS) and HQ ICT on ICRC WAN related issues.
- In coordination with ICT HoR supports region sites and field ICT staff on organizational / technical matters related to WAN.
- Understand the technical, procedural and contractual details of the CONNECT project and keep updated with respect to its technical and administrative developments and to react appropriately
- Conduct regular meetings and service reviews with Global Service Provider CSMs (Customer Service Managers) and STMs (Service Transition Managers)
- Assist ICT HoR in the topology and capacity choice, its implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Upon necessity assist region ICT Staff with installations and troubleshooting
- Escalate specific technical issues to Global Service Provider or ICRC Global Support Services
- Keep regional WAN related documentation updated.
- Analyse the service quality in coordination with site responsible and propose recommendation in order to improve the service quality.
- Participate / lead service reviews with Global Service Provider and analyse SLA breeches and penalty refunds.
- Make service report, meetings and other reports according to established procedures.
- Ensure that connectivity monitoring tools are functional and configured according to the defined needs and mastering them.
- Actively contribute to the preparation of monthly reviews of quality monitoring, quality of service and to defend the interests of the institution.
Assist to the NAME Head of the ICT Region
- Assist the Head of the ICT Region in the administrative matters and / or technical follow-up of the different projects at the level of the NAME region.
- Contributes to various ICT events planning and organization like Regional Workshops and Seminars
- Assist in deployment coordination and tracking of institutional ICT projects implementation in the NAME region.
Reporting
- Keeps his supervisor informed on ongoing and critical issues
- Inputs to the Quarterly ICT Report in relevant subjects (RM and WRMS)
- Generates regular or ad-hoc / on demand reports linked to the covered services
General Duties

Understand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
Apply the security rules at all times
Respects and observes the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan
The employee may be asked to perform duties and task not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when necessary
ICRC is a humanitarian organization, which works to protect and assist victims of armed conflicts. The position within the institution requires to convey/carry a certain image of the ICRC. ICRC expects its employees to behave in an appropriate manner at all times and in all places. All members of staff should ensure their attitudes correspond to ICRC principles both during and after working hours.
