The Project Assistant is responsible for completing the following tasks:
1. Managing the data collection process of all active REACH Syria assessments on a day-to-day basis, following the daily/monthly work plans with the support of the Senior Officer under the overall supervision of the Field Manager
2. Supporting the REACH officer and the Field Manager with planning and managing the enumerator network’s activities and ensuring that HR documents such as attendance sheets and payment receipts are completed. These activities are done with support and guidance from the REACH officers and direct management from the Field Manager;
3. Following the work plan set by the Field Manager for the project and checking the activities for the following day, week, month following up with any additional planning needs;
4. Monitoring data collection in the field and checking the methodology is being followed correctly and with quality (for example, sampling, interview technique, enumerators safety/security checks), and liaising closely with the REACH officers on this;
5. Daily communication with enumerators to both share the work plan on the daily basis and to ensure the work plan is being followed;
6. Training enumerators on the tools and the methodology with support from the REACH Officers and under supervision from the Project Manager;
7. Daily report to the Field Manager on the daily work plan and any challenges faced;
8. Checking all submitted surveys by enumerators to flag issues, contact the enumerators to correct the values, submit cleaning logs and reflecting the changes on the online tool, and correct the outliers after contacting enumerators;
9. Developing the capacity of the field team regarding data collection quality and coaching regarding methodology, through a continuous support and communication with the enumerator network to monitor data collection methods for repeated methodological errors and offer support to enumerators on any questions/clarification raised during the data collection process;
10. Developing enumerators contacts by following the expansion plan set in place by the Field Manager and by maintaining communication with enumerators regarding their monthly submission of proposed coverage, and developing reporting mechanisms for the information spontaneously being collected by the enumerator by sharing these monthly submissions with the Field Manager
11. Following news and social media for all events, news and emergencies happening inside Syria, with support from the REACH Officers and reporting back to the Field Manager
12. Responsible for REACH equipment, including all assets received, such as laptops and phones; and
13. Providing additional support as required relating to the implementation of activities.
