Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Head of Logistics Department
Work place: Amman-Jordan
Overview:
Secure sound logistical performance and coordination at mission level in order to provide programs with optimum support
Responsibilities:
1 : Contribute to the definition of mission strategy
- Developing a logistics strategy for the mission integrated into the overall country strategy and in line with the regional logistics strategy
- Making logistics data available to other departments to facilitate the review of performance toward achieving the logistics strategy, including reporting on key performance indicators to the SMT and region
- Producing high quality and timely logistics contributions to "proposals" and reports for funding bodies
2 : Coordinate logistics for the ACF Jordan country office
- Delivery of high quality logistics services throughout the mission
- Ensuring compliance with ACF and donor regulations and policies throughout implementation of programming, including anticipating and flagging up logistics-related risks
- Supporting the logistics team and other functional teams to effectively manage logistics related risks and ensure timely support to the mission on logistics matters
3 : Collaborate with headquarters in the management of international logistics
- Working with headquarters on the definition of incoterms, including selection and contracting of transportation agents, custom clearance, and reception for international supply
- Working with headquarters to identify support needs, including capacity building and required deployments for surge support
4 : Support security planning for the mission
- Ensuring that local security plans are appropriate and up to date
- Designing the national security plan, ensuring proper sign off, training, and capacity building for mission staff
- Monitoring the implementation of security guidelines within the mission
- Coordinating closely with the Country Director on all security management concerns
5 : Promote and ensure collaboration and coordination in logistics with the mission's partners
- Participating in the process of vetting and selecting partners and validating the risk analysis in logistical and security matters
- Coordinate with partner logistics teams to validate the logistical aspects of partnership conventions and agreements
6: Prevent and manage fraud and corruption
- Identifying the risks of fraud and corruption and putting in place preventative, mitigating, and monitoring mechanisms for the logistics department
- Ensuring appropriate internal controls and monitoring mechanisms are in place to respond to risks
- Support training of staff around risks of fraud and corruption, particularly for logistics workstreams
- Alerting the Country Director to indication of cases of fraud and corruption, support investigations, and undertaking corrective action when required
7: Manage the Logistics team in capital and be support/technical Manager for Logistics teams in the bases
- the day-to-day management of his/her team (guidance, follow-up, motivation…)
- evaluating the performance and developing the skills of his/her team members
- management of the teams for which s/he is support/technical Manager
8: Fulfil general responsibilities and contribute to broader Action Against Hunger Jordan operational quality and consistency
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information at all times
- Perform other job related tasks as requested by the supervisor
