Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Partnerships Manager

Position Overview:
Since November 2018, Action Against Hunger has implemented in consortium with the German Jordanian University (GJU) and Bioforce a BHA, UNICEF and Suez Foundation funded WASH Masters project that aims to development the first WASH Humanitarian Master’s program in the region.
Action Against Hunger Jordan is seeking a qualified, motivated and well-rounded Partnerships Manager to carry our core partnership and grant management functions. Based in Amman, the position will play a key role in ensuring effective overall consortium coordination, grants and partnership management, compliance, and partners and donor communication. Working closely with the WASH Head of Department and WASH Regional Technical Advisor, and reporting directly to the Grants Coordinator, the Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of the WASH Masters project with a focus on supporting the partners within the consortium.
In addition, the position will also support the management of Action Against Hunger’s growing local partner portfolio, and play a central role in the implementation of the partnerships strategy.
Responsibilities:
1) PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT: Provide robust partnership management, ensuring high-quality and compliant programming
- Provide end-to-end partnership life cycle management including stakeholder analysis, partner identification, due diligence, contracting, implementation, monitoring, reporting and close out
- Establish and reinforce common understanding across partners on project goals, components, and implementation methodologies
- Organize grant opening, review (including annual review for multi-year projects), and closure meetings with all implementing partners
- Conduct regular follow-up of contract requirements and work plans, and identify and address any delays in a timely and effective manner
- Monitor programmatic and financial progress during implementation; advise on any need for project amendment or extension. Flag implementation, programmatic, financial, and other issues to partners and management for decision-making
- Ensure internal and external reporting is completed with all partners according to the donor and Action Against Hunger requirements is respected by all according to agreed deadlines. Write and consolidate reports, ensuring high quality submissions.
- Promote partnership principles with partners, including identification of opportunities for joint strategic planning and supporting capacity strengthening initiatives.
- Develop and/or amend, in coordination with partners, consortium and project related documents, formalizing the operational and legal framework of the project
- Work with partners to ensure timely donor reporting and collection of case studies to showcase project successes
- Prepare documentation for any project modifications, including budget revisions, amendments, or extensions, and ensure such changes are made in close consultation with the consortium partners
- Facilitate the capturing and documentation of lessons learnt across operational, managerial, and strategic levels
- Ensure that donors and internal rules and procedures are understood and respected by all partners
2) REPRESENTATION: Maintain, strengthen and build positive partner and donor relations, fundraising and external representation of the WASH Masters project
- Ensure regular and open communication between partners, facilitating relevant coordination meetings and sharing communication between partners as required
- Participate to the WASH Master’s steering committee (ACF, BHA, GJU, Bioforce, UNICEF, Global WASH Cluster)
- In coordination with the DCDP, Grants Coordinator and HQ, protect and promote the vision, mission, and interests of the WASH Masters project towards external stakeholders, including donors
- Contribute to the identification of funding opportunities and proposal development for the continuation of the WASH Masters project, in collaboration with the Grants Coordinator and DCDP
- Contribute to the development of concept notes and proposals, and the design of the next phase of the project in collaboration with partners
- Maintain positive donor relations, including through the presentation of contextual and project updates
- With GJU, identify and promote the development of synergies and partnerships between the WASH Masters, humanitarian organizations, other universities, and private sector
- Working with the Communications Manager, and GJU ensure progress against consortium communication and visibility plans in line with proposal commitments, donor requirements, and guidelines of consortium partners
- Working with the WASH Head of Department and WASH Regional Technical Advisor Identify fora and platforms where the HWM can be presented and promoted (e.g. Water, Engineering and Development Center (WEDC) and World Water Forum (WWF).
3) PARTNER IDENTIFICATION AND STRATEGY: Support and champion the development and implementation of Action Against Hunger Jordan’s partnerships strategy, including investments in partner capacity
- Co-chair the partnerships committee to support inter-departmental efforts towards effective partnership management.
- Lead stakeholder/partner mapping exercises for the identification of strategic partnerships in Action Against Hunger’s core sectoral and geographical priority areas.
- Promote a culture of long-term partnerships, supporting efforts to identify and resource areas of capacity strengthening and organizational development for current and partners
