BACKGROUND on IMPACT Initiatives and ACTED
IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO, based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization manages several initiatives, including the IMPACT Initiative. The IMPACT team comprises specialists in data collection, management and analysis, GIS and remote-sensing. IMPACT was launched at the initiative of ACTED, an international NGO whose headquarter is based in Paris and is present in thirty countries.
Terms of Reference
Under the direct supervision and reporting to the IMPACT Assessment Officer, and the IMPACT Assessment Manager, in coordination with Field Coordinators and the Data Managerment Officer, the Field Coordinator’s duties will include, among others:
1. Management of Field Monitors:
• Liaison with Implementing Partners in Syria as per programme needs.
• Development and coordination of the IMPACT Monitoring network in Southern Syria.
• Training of team leaders and monitors on monitoring methodologies.
• Support and follow-up on administrative and technical issues pertaining to monitoring activities in Syria.
• Provide timely and accurrate updates to the IMPACT focal point of any changes or challenges in the monitoring network while performing monitoring.
2. Involvement in Activities inside Syria:
• Support in managing the IMPACT Monitoring network during primary data collection and monitoring on the field.
• Support the development of IMPACT products and reports.
• Translate questionnaires, materials, and documents related to monitoring as needed (Arabic - English)
• Act as a focal point for field implementing partners in Syria.
• Ensure timely, steady, and quality monitoring processes in the field.
• Ensure the reliability of the primary data collection and the triangulation of the information collected.
• Provide support to other IMPACT Field team members as required. This will include information management, assessment technical support, logistical support and administrative support.
• Ensure the continuous update of the monitoring and reporting tools.
• Contribute to the development of monitoring tools and procedures
3. Involvement in Information and Communication
• Support on report drafting (monthly reports, project notes, etc)
• Ensure clear, fluid, and updated communication with partners in Syria, as well as with IMPACT management and other IMPACT members of the team.
• Participate in coordination platforms based in Amman as relevant and under the direct supervision of the IMPACT Assessment Officer and the IMPACT Assessment Manager
