To support the effective operation of the NRC Logistics Team and related programme activities located in Azraq camp, by planning and implementing sound logistics practices (procurement, transport, warehousing, and reporting) in accordance with NRC Logistics policies and procedures and relevant donor guidelines.
1. Role and responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
1. Implement (and establish where needed) standard NRC Logistics procedures and systems, ensuring NRC policies and procedures are correctly followed with an anti-corruption, transparency and value for money focus.
2. Manage the supply chain and field logistics team to facilitate accountable and efficient procurement, receipt, storage and movement of relief items and programme resources, from receipt at the camp hub to delivery at distribution point or end user.
3. Liaise closely with programme and project implementation staff to coordinate, plan and continuously update logistics operations plans as per programme needs.
4. Line management responsibility for the Logistics Technical Officers / Team Leaders and provide oversight and training to all field logistics staff in the area of responsibility.
5. Identify resourcing needs and assist in the recruitment of field logistics personnel.
6. Prepare and implement, in coordination with the support of the Logistics Manager, a logistics capacity building plan for training and development of the logistics teams at field level.
7. Coordinate and facilitate timely reporting of camp logistics activities.
Specific responsibilities
1. Co-ordinate and manage the supply and logistics support for operations within the Azraq refugee camp, including requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing and delivering goods.
2. Manage ongoing local procurement and explore the options to further expand the potential procurement opportunities in the vicinities of the area of support.
3. Plan, co-ordinate and manage transportation of materials in support of the operation in Azraq camp (including managing camp permits).
4. Manage, implement/maintain, and follow NRC standard warehousing practices and supervise Warehouse staff in record keeping to full audit standard.
5. Provide training for line managers with logistics responsibilities, particularly in procurement procedures and stock management requirements.
6. Other tasks as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
