The role of the Technical HR Officer/Health and Safety is to deliver First Aid training throughout NRC, to develop materials for such trainings, as well as update and maintain the health and safety kits and practices throughout all NRC locations in Jordan.
1. Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
• Ensures compliance with NRC (global and national) policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines and/or proposes new initiatives to bridge gaps and implements these.
• Develops with the assigned team, quarterly activity plans and/or feeds in the quarterly team activity plan with technical experience and knowledge.
• Develops systems and SOP's and makes sure they are implemented accordingly.
• Implements complex systems and procedures ensuring they conform to NRC policies, SOP's and handbooks. Provides advice to managers on complex and cross departments issues. Provides quality checks on department processes and output.
• Identify, analyse and evaluate key processes and gaps in the team activities and make recommendations for improvement.
• Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders.
• Provides qualitative and quantitative analysis over team activities, signals trends and patterns compiles one team report.

Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
• In cooperation with Security and HR staff, develop a First Aid course for all new staff, and a refresher course for existing staff.
• Deliver basic First Aid and refresher courses as necessary.
• Update and maintain the supply and function of all First Aid kits, as well as enforcing best practices for the handling of dangerous materials within the workplace.
• Undertake Risk Assessments and Method Statements for high risk activities
• Implement measures to ensure adherence to NRC’s Health and Safety Plan for NRC employees and CfW Volunteers.
• Develop a strategy for making the NRC offices and working areas more accessible for those with disabilities.
• Follow up on health and safety checks for identified high risk activities within NRC.
• Cooperate regularly with both HR and Security to ensure Health and Safety standards and trainings are up to date.
• Ensure that all sites are adequately supplied with the necessary safety equipment and monitor the use of such Personal protective equipment (PPE).
