Summary:
The SES II Information Technology Officer closely with IRD HQ IT as well as other Jordan based IRD IT managers to plan and organize implement and maintain IRD’s IT operations. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. Additionally schedules and directs activities to resolve hardware and software problems as needed.
S/he assists in the design and implementation of short- and long-term plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future SES II project requirements; develops, implements, and maintains IRD IT policies, procedures, and provides associated training to maintain successful secure IT infrastructure administration; prepares scope of work reports and other documentation for IT infrastructure projects and associated efforts; negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services; assists with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures; manages and sets priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, etc.; tests field network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports; tests server performance and provides network performance statistics and reports.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Manage the execution of IT ERP activities, including in the areas of infrastructure, managed services, hardware, software and advisory services to IRD field offices.
• Manage/lead the design, development and implementation of ERP IT architectures to support the needs of IRD’s field office, consistent with the IT strategy.
• Manage the design and implementation of information management systems (through IRD Cloud services and systems integrators).
• Ensure network and workstation health through latest Anti-Virus protection and definitions.
• Manage the execution and roll-out of IT operational policies and procedures and over time be responsible for their ongoing maintenance, extension and improvement as IRD’s operations expand.
• Travel overseas may be required and will be assigned by VP of Global Support Services.
• Ability to analyze ERP issues and problems systematically, gathering broad and balanced input, drawing sound conclusions and translating conclusions into timely decisions and actions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality standards and best practice; open to new ideas, builds partnerships for learning and knowledge sharing that is consistent with IRD IT strategy.
• Promotes collaboration and facilitates teamwork across IRD IT teams and its external service providers; is tactful, diplomatic and works with integrity, honesty and respect for others.
• Display exceptional listening and analytical skills to understand IRD’s Office of Technology needs and concerns and the ability to respond promptly and effectively to these needs.
• Maintenance of network software systems.
• Control over software licensing.
• Create and manage data backups and ensure data integrity.
• Monitoring and maintaining networkable devices (Printers and Photocopiers).
• Other duties as assigned.
