- Ensure appropriate medical follow-up and, if necessary and possible, refer to other health facilities.
-If necessary, prescribe relevant treatment according to MSF/ MoH guidelines and protocols.
-Ensure comprehensiveb documentation in the patients' medical file in a timely and accurate manner, including diagnosis, investigations, treatment, referrals and follow-up plan.
- Ensure appropriate investigations are performed (either in the clinic or by referral to the appropriate facility).
- Ensure the follow-up treatment, including short- term prescriptions and renewal of long-term prescriptions.
- Work in community outreach or community education sessions if required.
- Ensure the systematic and organized follow up of patients, including follow-up of non-attenders.
- Ensure daily briefings are given to MSF project doctor as requested re numbers seen, problems encountered, emergency patients, referrals made, safety issues and any other relevant information.
- Treat chronic diseases with a particular focus on hypertension, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease (COPD and Asthma) and diabetes.
- Ensure rational prescribing of medications according to MSF/MoH guidelines and assist in forecasting medical consumption.
-Ensures the systematic and organized follow up patients with chronic diseases in OPD.
- Keep the patient and his/her family (respecting confidentiality) informed of their condition.
-Ensure follow-up and interpretation of the results of investigations with appropriate action according to MSF/MoH protocols.
-Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent illness (assisted by clinical xamination,
laboratory results and investigations as available).
