Summary:
The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager is responsible for proactively leading and supporting highly visible, group-wide programs and projects within the IT organization through the thoroughness of project management processes, services, and close collaboration with portfolio managers, project teams, and business partners. Deeply involved in improving the consistency, predictability, visibility, and efficiency of the IT organization projects delivery capability.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure Project Management Governance by Building up a common set of project management methodology including practices, principles and templates for managing projects.
• Ensure that the latest PMO quality standards are enforced and followed within the organization.
• Interface and build strong rapport with designated Project Managers by providing support, coaching, training and mentoring on a regular basis.
• Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all projects.
• Monitor Project overhead and capital expenses to ensure achievement of cost efficiency and acting to correct any adverse variances.
• Manage Group IT Portfolios; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and budgets as needed; and identify and resolve issues to ensure projects success.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of project based estimating techniques, resource planning and allocation methods, activity based estimating, budget and cost estimating, task development and scope management.
• Responsible for adhering to change management procedures incorporating a formalized change control process ensuring that changes to project scope, deliverable, timelines and resources are formally defined, documented and approved.
• Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete.
• Ensure proper execution of the group IT portfolio risk strategy throughout the projects life cycle.
