Médecins Sans Frontières Holland is running a complex surgical programin Ramtha hospital.
The Biomedical Technician will be the focal person for biomedical equipment in Ramtha project which will require 80% or his/her time; 20% of his/her time will be spend to provide biomed support other projects .He/she knows and understands the operating principles and technical details of the equipment, gives advice to users and
line-managers and ensures it is correctly used and functioning well.
He/she is responsible for the correct use, maintenance and repair of the equipment.
He/she maintains accurate documentation regarding all processes, inventories and spare-parts stocks.
Understands the technical documentation, operating principle and use of each piece of
biomedical equipment in the projects.
Identifies any issues or problems in any of the locations the equipment is used.
Reports these to the supervisor and proposes solutions. (Training of staff on a device, operating procedures ...)
Creates and updates the maintenance schedule for the equipment park and ensures it is followed.
Carries out preventive and curative maintenance works according to protocols/manuals.
Organises and participates in installation and replacement of biomedical equipment.
Takes the lead in organising user training where required.
Maintains the equipment files and ensures they are complete, accurate and up-to-date.
Manages the spare parts stock; ensures appropriate stock levels by regular and timely order proposals.
