1. Water quality control
He/she conducts free chlorine residuals at the different water points according to established methodology and agreed schedule;
He/she fills the testing report and submits to the Deputy Program Manager and Quality Officer;
In case of unsatisfactory results, he/she collaborates with the Water Quality Officer in designing adequate response;
He/she monitors water tanks cleanliness and state, writes reports and coordinates with the Water Quality Manager to solve the issue
2. Supervision of the water supply in the assigned district
In constant liaison with account monitors and water fillers, he/she ensures that trucks reach their assigned destination (user-point level)
He/she supervises water reception by the community focal points/wash committees when possible and conducts spot checks
He/she controls the reporting documents filled by water fillers and community focal points
He/she inputs data into WADI reporting system and collects missing data
He/she follows-up on complaints received directly or through Acted hotline
With the help of Acted community mobilisers, he/she establishes good relations with the community and participate in the different community meetings and discussions
He/she informs the community of delays or problems regarding water supply
He/she ensures that water is distributed in a fair way and as per the wishes of the CFP and filling assumptions for the block.
3. Coordination and reporting
He/she submits daily reports to the Field Manager on water quality and complaints
He/she submits daily as well as ad-hoc reports on water supply issues faced and solved in the field
Coordinates with other teams, especially community mobilisers and site managers and supervisors
He/she reports other issue, incident, risks, or any ad hoc information which could affect the project, staff or donors
4. Respect of ACTED rules and procedures
He/she respects ACTED security procedures and guidelines and ensures these are enforced by all ACTED staff members under his/her responsibility;
He/she communicates with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and CBOs working in his/her assigned area according to ACTED policies and upon request from his line manager.
5. Nature of the job
- Working hours are determined with the contract however in practice are variable depending upon the needs of the project. Working hours can range from 6am until 6pm, seven days per week, can be on a shift or fixed pattern. Working hours can extended before or after these hours if required in exceptional circumstances.
- Working days can include public holidays. Although no staff is required to work during this period the needs remain and flexibility is appreciated.
- Finger printing is used to monitor the attendance of staff. Staff who do not finger print in on time or at all can be subject to disciplinary procedures.
- Staff roles are defined in the ToR however staff can be required to fulfil other roles or duties according to the operational or strategic needs of the programme. These duties can be defined by any line manager, FLATS manager PM, Co ordination.
- Security is a group responsibility and all staff are required to inform their managers of events or incidents which may be deemed to affect the programme or staff.
