1.1. Job purpose
Responsible for the effective operations of the IP, Data link for Umniah Transport Infrastructure (DWDM, SDH, PDH, MPLS, Switches and Internet Gateway), manage Umniah ISP Security solutions to insure network availability without security incidents occurrence to protect IP infrastructure and customers, handling service requests, and responsible for management, and operations of the IP and OPTIX network as a whole, Analyzing system capacity vs. forecasted demand and traffic projections and provide periodic and escalation reports to planning and Maintenance team .
1.2.Responsibilities
Manage and operate Transport Infrastructure to provide requested Services according to Operation level agreement
Configure MPLS and MW Tunnels to provide connectivity between Network elements (3G, LTE, WIMAX and Customers Sites and locations)
Configure TDM and EOS services to provide connectivity between
network elements
(2G, A-ters, IRUs, IGWs)
Configure New DWDM high capacity links
Configure New WiMAX sectors on WASN
Preform Network change configuration as per related policies and procedures
Maintain an updated documentations of new links information
Respond to any requested operations and changes from other department (Rehoming,activation, reroute, activation and creating new IP rule )
Manage and administrate Transport infrastructure to maintain and improve performance and achieve monthly network availability
Manage, administrate and Maintain WiMAX core elements Network and AAA
Manage, administrate and Maintain IP GW, and related supported systems ( Caches, DPI’s, DNS, Routers, switches, management and monitoring servers)
Manage, administrate and Maintain MPSL Core, distribution and access for MDS Customers and 3G/2G MPLS Network
Manage, administrate and Maintain SDH and PDH Networks
Manage, administrate and Maintain DWDM Network
Provide Daily Report regarding Transport Infrastructure Alarms, Performance and connectivity for Planning and Field Maintenance team.
Periodic Preventive Maintenance for All Infrastructure elements
Create Operation Right for all OSS Users with Periodic check for the proper implementation
Maintain Security for Umniah Internet Critical services within area of responsibility and provide MSS for MDS Customers
Implement Security Solution to protect Umniah IP Networks from attacks and Security threats
Manage and administrate Network Firewalls, IPS.
Manage and Administrate DDoS Mitigation Solution to Protect Umniah IP GWs
Response to escalation and support request received by SOC.
Perform Network Vulnerability Scanning for MSS Customers
Implement Security Control and changes to close Vulnerabilities on IP Networks devices and Systems
24/7 Transmission and IP Helpdesk for All Transport Infrastructure Network Elements
Provide Transmission and IP Level 2 support for all Field teams
Troubleshoot and analyze all network fault and provide needed action to field maintenance team
Analyze Packet Drop reports sent from performance team (WiMAX,3G, 4G) and provide action needed to Planning and field maintenance team
Respond to and network faults, security attacks and network performance issues after working Hours
Perform Reporting in addition to Maintain and update Network Documentation
Document and Update Umniah Transport Network diagram and Related Resources
Create Technical Procedures and update Knowledge base
Backup Network devices and restore it when its needed
Maintain and update Network inventory
