Youth Officer supervises the daily operations of the NRC Youth Programme in D08 centre / Za’atari, which provides skills training and recreational activities for youth.
Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
- Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to staff, specifies their individual work plans and evaluates individual team member’s performance, and provides direction, assigns tasks, gives instructions to daily labors and/or contractors and evaluates their performance.
- Monitors the progress of the activities of assigned staff and ensures they are implemented conform planning and quality standards.
- Develops with the assigned team monthly activity plans
- Ensures compliance with NRC policies CC tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Suggests new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities that meets the needs of beneficiaries.
- Identify, analyze and evaluate processes and gaps in the implementation of activities and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities
- Assigns tasks/follow up on synergies implemented.
- Develops and follows up implementation of weekly work and activity plans for site.
- Represents at Community Gatherings on Youth/Education, other WGs as delegated.
- Represents as delegated, with focus on programme design and content.
- Conducts HR processes with Senior Assistants. Advises on capacity building needs and opportunities. Supports admin/delivery of capacity building conducted on site.
- Informs programme development at site level, with feedback from TAs, community staff and students.
- Prepares periodic internal activity reports.
- Assigns tasks relating to budget/procurement. Liaises with Site Operations Officer on stock management procedures.
- Daily management of TAs and community staff through weekly work and activity plans.
- Ensures task distribution for key processes/events, e.g. outreach, registration, exams, graduation.
- Supervision of delivery through daily oversight of TAs and community staff. Organizes meetings with community staff upon need.
