Our organization is a professional services firm that manages Information Technology (IT) for our clients. Our clients are small and medium businesses that usually range between 10-100 employees located in the United States. Our firm acts as the IT department for our clients. In this role you will work with 5-15 businesses in the US where you will act as their Network Administrator. You will remotely manage and monitor the IT environment for different clients. This includes computers, servers, switches and firewalls. This covers areas such as networking, security, storage, software, hardware and more. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 4pm to 1am local time ranging from 40 to 48 hours per week and available for emergencies and/or critical projects. Network Administrators should possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communications skills in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of systems hardware and software.
Job Summary
Your primary focus is to remotely manage and monitor your clients’ IT environment
Typical Duties
• Installing operating system software, patches and upgrades
• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues
• Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning and monitoring operating system software and servers
• Performing system backups and recovery
• Conducting server builds
Responsibilities
• Active Directory planning and troubleshooting
• Exchange implementation and troubleshooting
• Perform configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring of the following:
o Servers (W2008/2012, Exchange 2007/2010, SBS 2008)
o Networking and Firewalls (Cisco, Sonicwall, etc)
o VPN configuration and troubleshooting
o Email (Client and server level)
o DNS
o Backup and restore
o Connectivity for Client/Server applications
• Upgrade systems by conferring with vendors and/or partners
• Document IT systems and infrastructure for clients
• Regularly update CRM and ticket tools to:
o Maintain schedule
o Record time
o Enter notes about client work
• Monitor Service Board regularly
• Provide backup for other team members
• On call for after hours service alternate weeks
• Update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities and reading professional publications
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
