1. Handle formulation development for new and existing products from the pre-formulation studies, formulation optimization and monitoring the product stability and performance assessment.
2. Generate and present all data required with respect to product formulation/development including stability, performance, specifications, formulations, and finished product specifications.
3. Prepare the required R&D documents for the registration process.
4. Prepare and write product development reports “Galenic Study”, SOPs, POI, Validation and Retrospective Validation Reports.
5. Handle laboratory-scale formulation development, scale-up of potential formulations for the pilot scale, and involvement with preparing the technology transfer documents of development products into commercial manufacture in accordance to GMP guidelines.
6. Handle intellectual property; full patents research and preparing a strategy for non-infringing patents, and follow up on regulatory problems regarding patency issues.
7. Establish stability studies and prepare stability protocols.
8. Know all the needs to formulate modified release dosage forms such as sustained release, prolonged release, and delayed release.
9. Work closely with regulatory affairs, strategic planning, quality and commercial operations to ensure that formulation and process development are appropriate.
10. Organize multiple responsibilities to ensure tasks are appropriately prioritized and executed on time.
11. Apply scientific fundamentals to solve complex formulation, stability, and manufacturing challenges.
12. Identify functional components and processes to optimize drug product performance.
13. Facilitate optimized formulation process transfer to the manufacturing group.
