UX Designing Strategy & Directions
• Working with the Technology and other IT leaders to set the UX Design team strategy developing and refining how we engage and inspire the business
• Setting the overall creative design direction, establishing the set-up and workflow of the team etc.
• Partnering with key stakeholders to identify opportunities and to understand customer needs and business requirements. Provide guidance on the vision, objective and purpose for projects.
• Determining, setting and monitoring the optimal design approach for projects from ideation to final design implementation.
• Allocating and monitoring of design resource (internal and external) to ensure that quality work will be completed on time and budget.
• Working with designers and engaging external design agencies when appropriate - in these cases, will be responsible for UX Designing Strategy & Directions

• Working with designers and engaging external design agencies when appropriate - in these cases, will be responsible for managing this relationship and for monitoring the quality of the outputs as well as overall budget.
• Closely direct Lead the UX & Graphic Designers and the Business Analyst who are driving day-to-day design detail. Engage and inspire entire design project teams.
• Ensure the projects remain on course and reach the highest standards of design that create innovation and user value.
• Signing-off designs at various milestones.
• Providing updates and presenting final designs to the leadership team, alongside project team.
• Strive to continually elevate the quality of experiences, products and services we design.
Business Support and Financial Resourcing
• Participating with senior stakeholders on shaping overall wider vision and strategy for experiences, products and services
• Ensures design is considered and optimized to improve key business KPIs e.g. customer acquisition, ARPU, retention, time to market, new revenue, larger market share etc.
• Work with other leaders to develop and implement the overall user experience, product marketing, sales and customer service strategy.
• Ensure direct reports are meeting utilization and billability targets, completing timesheets accurately.
• Manager with overall resource planning and forecasting for the whole UX team.
• Identify when other internal teams are required to work on the project and inform the Project/Account Manager to book the relevant resource throughout the development of the UX deliverables.
• Interviewing freelance UXs; managing, assessing and providing feedback on their performance post-project, while making sure of effective project cost alignment of hiring freelancers.
Maintaining Awareness
• Keep abreast of the latest design approaches and methodologies.
• Keep abreast of latest relevant industry, cultural, social, economic and technological trends.
• Develop and refine thought leadership perspectives.
• Ensuring the above insight is disseminated through the UX design team and applied to projects.
• Ongoing education across departments and stakeholders about the value of UX.
Manage the Human Resources
• Recruit, develop and mentor a team of talented, highly motivated staff
• Manage the resource allocation/deployment to ensure proper team member productivity and ensure that their capabilities meet the demands.
• Ensuring your design team family has the right skills and talent.
• Fostering a team environment in which designers feel engaged and motivated.
• Promoting technical development through one to one mentoring and through bringing people together to share best-practice.
• Build good relationships with team members, ensuring a high level of morale.
• Conduct regular team and individual meetings and provide feedback on team and individual performance on a regular basis.
• Conduct company performance reviews, using the likes of SMART objectives regularly.
• Highlight any performance issues early and manage these in a professional manner.
• Identify team members training needs and support arrangements and initiatives for training.
• Keep team informed of company news and decisions.
• Responsible for maintaining the UX teams’ high standards of recommendations and document presentation.
• Approve team holidays and ensure appropriate cover is organized.
• Ensuring that their UX direct reports & team resources are meeting utilization targets and carrying out “housekeeping” tasks such as timesheet completion.
• Retention & development rate of direct reports.
