IRC is currently addressing the needs of war-affected Syrians from several operational bases in the region. The IRC’ activities in the region form part of an over-arching humanitarian response in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq to assist refugees, IDPs and conflict-affected Syrians survive conflict and displacement.
Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance programs for vulnerable persons in Southern Syria includes assistance in the following sectors: women’s protection & empowerment, child protection, protection rule of law, cash assistance, primary health care service provision and community-based health.
Job Overview/Summary:
The Senior Reporting and Monitoring Officer (SRMO) will act as the lead focal point for data collection, service monitoring (qualitative and quantitative) and report preparation for the IRC Jordan Cross Border Protection team. He/She will support technical managers to improve beneficiary data collection activities, take the lead in consolidating quantitative and narrative donor reports, and act as key focal point to the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit. The SRMO will play a key role in ensuring IRC protection services are feeding into global IRC reporting mechanisms.
Major Responsibilities:
Strengthening data collection and ensuring the quality of protection programs’ implementation
Review, upgrade and monitor beneficiary and activity data collection and management systems, for both IRC partners and direct implementation.

Act as focal point to technical protection managers for the accumulation and reporting of beneficiary and program data.

Support the consolidation of both narrative and quantitative reports to donors (in collaboration with Monitoring and Grants teams).

Act as focal point between IRC Monitoring team and Protection technical units for monitoring and reporting activities.
Ensure timely and accurate routine data collection according to the monitoring plan.
Developing an effective documentation system to keep track of data source documents.
Support the development of monitoring methods and questions for protection activities, while ensuring a do-no-harm approach.
Support the development of a stronger evidence base for IRC
protection services.
Develop and guide the implementation of appropriate monitoring and data collection tools for services.

Maintain a monthly indicator and achievement tracker across all protection grants and teams.
Become knowledgeable of, and act as protection focal point for IRC global M&E initiatives.
Build the capacity of protection technical teams and implementing partners in data collection, monitoring and reporting.

Ensure timely and accurate routine data collection.
Support the programs in developing an effective documentation system to keep track of data source documents.
Work with the programs’ ICT4P/data staff to analyze the data to monitor the indicators’ progress and highlight the main trends and changes.
