Context
The Jordan Red Cross Society (JRCS) in partnership with the French Red Cross (FRC) is implementing an urban development project funded by AFD (Agence Française de Développement) for the “Improvement of the living conditions of the refugees’ population and their host communities, in the district of Bader, Amman”.
The project aims to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable while offering sustainable and innovative solutions in the strengthening of the capacities of the municipal services and public facilities involved, as well as by establishing an environment of dialogue, consultation and accountability within the community.
Project description
The project has specific objectives to facilitate the access to public services and improve the living conditions (public spaces, habitat and psychosocial) of the vulnerable households living in the district of Bader. The project is attaining these objectives through community mobilization and direct interventions on the infrastructure (public and private) in regards to urban development, water, hygiene, sanitation, housing and psychosocial support.
Tasks of the project officer:
Under the Jordan Red Cross Society accountability and under the supervision of FRC project coordinator, the community officer will be in charge of the development and implementation of community activities following a participatory approach.
