Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and implement various purchasing strategies and procurement policies and developing effective plans to mitigate risks, and proactively address and eliminate potential supply constraints that may arise in future by understanding of the particular market for the goods and services being purchased and where that market is heading.
• Examine the amount of money spend in each category of goods and services and use this analysis to identify opportunities for improvement by generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
• Invent negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
• Ensure that material/services procurement is done in the most cost effective manner and delivery schedules are maintained or improved.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage foreign purchasing operations and activities to ensure control mechanisms are effectively applied.
• Manage the suppliers’ performance.
• Provide advice and guidance to internal customers on procurement issues in order to support the achievement of corporate production objectives.
• Identify, develop, propose and/or implement as appropriate policy and procedure improvements for the Section, in order to ensure the highest professional procurement standards are achieved.
• Negotiate with key suppliers on contract issues in order to ensure best value purchasing terms are obtained.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers in order to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process.
• Introduces new suppliers to the company and discusses with them on business terms and conditions.
• Ensure strict compliance with best business practices to maintain highest level of integrity and ethical behavior in executing any commercial transaction.
• Provide reports on foreign purchasing activity and commitment.
• Identify operational improvement areas through the discovery of gaps or new opportunities, responding to changing business requirements.
• To ensure all foreign parts are delivered using the correct mode of transportation on time based on Production’s and maintenance request.
• Ensures compliance to all documentation requirements.
• Performs other duties related to the job as assigned by his management.
General Administration Duties
• Conduct annual appraisals for personnel initiate job evaluation for members of the section in line with approved HR policy.
• Motivating staff.
• Coaching his team.
• Participate in company committees as assigned.
