Job Overview/Summary:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Child Protection Manager, the Senior Child Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring effective case management interventions focusing on unaccompanied & separated children according to the inter-agency Standard Operating Procedures and IRC approach. He/she will be responsible for the overall case management, establishing/maintaining referral networks and coordinating with key stakeholders working in refugee camps.
Major Responsibilities:
The CP Senior Officer is specifically responsible for the following tasks:
Establish a child-friendly and supportive environment for unaccompanied and separated children by enhancing community based protection mechanisms involving the refugee community and other stakeholders as appropriate and in collaboration with Community Outreach team.
Supporting the Case Workers and Para Case Workers ensuring that overall case management system is done according to the Standard Operating Procedures. Case Management services include:
Identification
Assessment/registration
Documentation
Direct Support and/or referral
Follow up and monitoring
Case closure (if and when appropriate)
Check and approve the IMS forms that are filled by the Case Workers.
Support family reunification and alternative care interventions in collaboration with Community Outreach Officers.
Ensure that all Case Workers have a clear schedule and reporting process.
With the support of the team, develop best practices and lesson learned. Ensure that all SOPs are up to date and integrate best practices and lesson learned.
Facilitate/co-facilitate capacity building/training events when required.
Ensure the Case Workers prepare case studies, review them and file them on a case studies file.
MONITORING & REPORTING
Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and 3-months work plans in a timely manner incorporating Deputy Child Protection Manager Feedback.
Participate in the development of the project monitoring plan and participate in the monitoring of activities.
Timely sharing of weekly and monthly reports and other reports as required
In close collaboration with Senior Data Officer, ensure that there is a smooth system of capturing information required for the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS).
Participate in weekly supervisory meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care and appropriate case management.
COORDINATION & REPRESENTATION
Participate in weekly field meetings to ensure effective coordination with the IRC sectors.
Work collaboratively with IRC logistics and finance staff as required to process Purchase Requests and Payment Vouchers as guided by the Deputy Child Protection Manager.
As requested, undertake/participate in liaison, coordination, and information sharing activities with national NGOs, international organizations, donors and government.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.

Position Reports to: Deputy Manager.
Position directly supervises: Case Workers.
Indirect Reporting: Child Protection Program Manager.
Other Internal and/or external contacts: Under the supervision of the Deputy Manager, )
Internal: coordinate with other departments to ensure effective referrals and exchange of information (WPE, ERD and Health.
External:Other service providers in Zaatari camps to ensure effective referrals, response and feedback to the concerns of unaccompanied and separated children.
