BACKGROUND TO IRC
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance program for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians includes both camp-based (Zaatari, Azraq) and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid). The IRC's assistance programs focus on supporting health, ensuring child protection, addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and fostering economic recovery and development (ERD).
The ERD program works to stabilize household economies through protection cash, financial management trainings, and capacity building for income generation for women and youth. Activities target vulnerable populations, particularly women who are at risk of gender-based violence (GBV). Through intensive training courses and targeted financial support, the ERD program builds the employability and business knowledge of these groups to support their self-sufficiency.
SCOPE OF WORK
The ERD program implements a variety of quarterly business training's for women and youth, conducted by ERD Program Officers in 3 locations in Northern Jordan; Mafraq, Irbid, and Ramtha. The primary focus of the position will be on identifying and mobilizing participants for the business training's activities and building participants financial management capacity. The ERD Officer will also help the startup of the business training's activities in East Amman, including partner engagement, programme roll out and conducting assessments in support of evidence-based implementation, as needed.
This position will be directly reporting to the ERD Deputy Program Manager for the Enterprise Programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation and Support
- Lead the selection of eligible participants for the business trainings, which includes assessing the referrals received from other IRC programs and conducting info sessions.
- Lead the implementation of business training activities through facilitation and leadership of training sessions in line with established curricula.
- Manage each cohort of training’s data and oversee building the related archive (Hard and Soft) according to the program guidelines to insure accurate documentation
- Manage each cohort’s surveying and monitoring activities, oversee the compilation of archival data and contribute to data analysis in support of evidence-based learning for each cohort and across the life of the programme.
- Maintain a Data Base that is up to date.
- Contribute to the professional development of the facilitation process and the improvement of training content and strategy by actively participating in reflection sessions and discussions.
- Contribute to a continuous learning and improvement process by advocating beneficiaries’ needs and participate in building ways to access and improve service delivery tailored to their needs.
- Incorporate new and innovative materials, new tools, and approaches of facilitation.
- Support and contribute to the compilation and updating of work plans and spending plans
