ACT Alliance - Jordan Syria Lebanon (JSL) Regional Forum was established in March 2012 and currently brings together ACT members working in and on Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. JSL exists primarily to serve the needs of its members and to act in their interest for the betterment of serving  vulnerable affected populations & those living in deprivation. The main objectives include information sharing/ communication; coordination; policy development and advocacy, and external representation of the ACT community. ACT Alliance is a coalition of about 140 churches and faith-based organizations working together in over 100 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalized people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards.
Job summary:
The position of JSL Forum Coordinator has existed since June 2014, and in 2016 will expand to provide versatile support to the ACT JSL Forum community.The Forum is guided by its Terms of Reference, and ultimately by the Heads of ACT member organizations. The JSL Forum Coordinator works in close coordination with and is accountable to the JSL  forum members through the Chair & Vice - Chair. The position of JSL Forum Coordinator is at present hosted by various members in Amman with monthly travel to Lebanon. While the position carries a good amount of coordination, policy writing and representation duties, practical management skills and knowledge of program implementation are invaluable.
 Information Sharing / Communication
 Act as focal point for the Forum (both for external and internal stakeholders).
 Respond to requests for help and information from member organizations, non-member organizations and other stakeholders, such as churches, partners, donors, governments and UN agencies.
 Help to ensure effective communication for all issues related to the Forum.
 Encourage information sharing, particularly related to best practices and lessons learned.
Coordination
 Provide overall support to the Country Directors Group (CDG), other Forum members and Working Groups. Serve as a link among the various Working Groups and CDG with other ACT members.
 Help maintain high quality working groups by providing support and guidance when needed.
 With other Forum members, work to uphold the JSL Terms of Reference.
 Coordinate with INGO support bodies (such as JIF and JIF working groups) and regional fora (such as SIRF and LHIF) at regional and international levels.
 Coordinate with external stakeholders (government, donors, UN, local organizations, etc.) to share information and pursue issues of interest to JSL members.
 When requested attend UNHCR working groups to share ACT members progress and insure understanding of contextual issues in the country.
 Organize joint activities, workshops, event and gatherings for members as required.

Policy / Advocacy
 Support advocacy efforts called for by JSL members.
 Promote positive image of the ACT alliance and its members in the region from the viewpoint of the Government of Jordan, Jordanian citizens, the UN, donors and other external stakeholders.
 Collect, analyze and share information relevant to members and external stakeholders, often with the goal of influencing policies and improving operational or protection space.
 Stay up-to-date on humanitarian, political, social and security issues relevant to Jordan and the wider response to the Syria Crisis.
Representation
 Ensure that ACT JSL positions on specific issues and interests are well represented at relevant platforms and meetings; and as much as possible promote representation by JSL themselves.
 Represent JSL externally when requested.
 Draft responses from the Forum to the members and to external stakeholders requiring information from the forum.
Management
 Work with the Chair and vice chair to lead the Forum and provide strategic guidance.
 Supervise and lead staff and consultants recruited to support the JSL work, as required.
 Lead JSL donor reporting and proposal development, as well as donor liaisons when required.
 Initiate change as needed on the working modalities of the forum in coordination with CDG.
 Introduce/ train ACT members on internal policies and procedures of the ACT alliance as required.
