The role of the Technical HR Officer/Training is to support the effective operation of the NRC Staff Development Unit and related training activities in all NRC locations: Amman, Zaatari, Azraq/EJC and Irbid/Jerash. The Technical HR Officer/Training reports to the HR Coordinator/Recruitment & Staff Development. The Technical HR Officer/Training might have up to one direct report.

Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
• Ensures compliance with NRC (global and national) policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines and/or proposes new initiatives to bridge gaps and implements these.
• Develops with the assigned team, quarterly activity plans and/or feeds in the quarterly team activity plan with technical experience and knowledge.
• Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to staff, specifies their individual work plans and evaluates individual team member’s performance.
• Monitors the progress of the team activities and ensures they are implemented conform planning, quality guidelines, budget and (donor) guidelines.
• Implements complex systems and procedures conform NRC policies, SOP's and handbooks.
• Provides qualitative and quantitative analysis over team activities, signals trends and patterns compiles one team report.
• Liaises and collaborates with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
• Along with HR Coordinator/Recruitment and Staff Development, maintains responsibility for overall planning and implementation of all NRC trainings in Jordan and maintains the annual training plan
• Responsible for collecting of all development plans for NRC Jordan staff and compiling of training needs matrix
• Plans and coordinates new training initiatives from the Head Office same as mandatory trainings (NRC Way 1, Code of Conduct, Performance Management, etc)
• Serves as focal point for NRC Way 1 trainings - organizes workshops and refreshers for NRC Way 1 trainers
• Plan for other staff development initiatives as agreed by the CMG
• Participates in induction for new staff as needed
• Develops new trainings and materials on different subjects
• Ensures proper tracking of training needs vs delivered trainings; provides periodic reports
• Promote NRC values and safe working environment same as protection from sexual exploitation/abuse of beneficiaries
