Global Partners Governance (GPG) works with parliaments and political parties around the world to promote representative politics and effective governance. Our work directly supports politicians and parliamentary staff and has included the delivery of projects with parliaments in Africa, the Middle East and Central-Eastern Europe.
We are seeking a Project Manager (Arabic-speaking) who will be based in our Amman office with frequent travel to project countries in the Middle East and North Africa, primarily Iraq.
Role and tasks
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, the MENA Projects Manager will:
Develop partnerships and implement activities in project countries based on an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the project’s stakeholders.
Brief and liaise with our project specialists and consultants to maximise their contribution to project activities.
Liaise with other GPG MENA projects managers on synergies between our existing projects.
Budget Management, delivery to agreed budgets, financial and progress reporting to donors
Travel regularly to Iraq and occasionally other countries where necessary for project activities and company events.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the political developments in the MENA region, in particular Iraq, and carry out research in support of projects.
Undertake Arabic<>English translation, editing and interpretation as required.
Represent GPG at external events including meetings, roundtables and conferences with officials, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
Any other tasks deemed necessary to ensure the smooth running of the project
