The Food Security Project Manager is responsible for the management of all relevant activities throughout the project cycle.
Specifically, he/she is responsible to:
• Together with the FS Programme Manager, supervise all aspects of designing, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting regarding the food assistance project, including internal and external reporting and project management formats updates: project monitoring format, budget follow up etc…
• Contributing to the development of new project proposal in the food security sector
• Ensure the delivery expected outputs and outcomes as stated in the project contract and narrative
• Effectively and efficiently coordinate team movement to ensure smooth implementation of all activities, timing reporting and solving project implementation challenges in communication and coordination with FS Program Manager
• Identify project risks and possible actions/solutions on how to mitigate them
• Through the use of ToRs, activity reporting and site visits, monitor the timely completion and quality of activities
• In conjunction with the ACTED Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, monitor and evaluate the outcomes/outputs of the project and document lessons learnt
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with WFP and other relevant stakeholders
• Maintain positive and transparent relations with partners and key stakeholders in the community
• Participate to weekly coordination, monthly program meeting and ad-hoc meetings (internal and external if requested by line manager)
• Regularly liaise and keep a positive and collaborative relationship with finance, logistics, administration and security teams as well as project development, AMEU, and data entry departments
• In consultation with the Food Security Program Manager and HR/Administration department, draft ToRS, short-lists for recruitment, interview questions/questionnaires and select staff and/or volunteers with appropriate skills for the project activities
• Manage project staff according to the established policies and practices of the organization, including through continuous coaching, regular appraisals, drafting of job descriptions etc. including (when needed) necessary disciplinary actions in line with ACTED HR and administration policies and procedures
• Support the development of the technical knowledge of field team and hotline officers also through rotation in their roles and on-the job training
• Maintain open dialogue with all team members, and treat all staff in a respectful way
• Contribute to the security management of his/her team and is responsible for knowing the location of all teams at any point in time, maintaining regular communication with the team when in the field and ensuring that all security rules are known and respected by all in the team when implementing program activities
• The Project Manager is responsible for reporting incidents to security focal points and Coordination.
• The Project Manager is responsible for raising awareness on and implementing ACTED security and evacuation plans
