REACH data collection translator is responsible for supporting assessments in the host communities in Jordan. Main tasks include data collection through household surveys and community interviews, taking over the translation tasks between English and Arabic in the field and the office, following up on contacts and information in consultation with the Senior Field Coordinator, coordinating with sub-team and wider team, taking care of REACH equipment in the field and the office and other duties when requested.
1. Translating documents from Arabic to English and vice versa.
2. Translation assessment tools.
3. Provide translation for the focused group discussion scripts.
4. Provide interpretation between Arabic and English during REACH sessions.
5. Support training and monitoring new CM's
6. Double check the quality data collected.
7. Providing additional support as required to supporting assessments and other activities of REACH.
8. Primary data collection according to assessment methodology using a range of methods: interviews using Open Data Kit software, tele-surveys, observational surveys, updating maps, focus group discussions, participatory methods.
9. Data entry tasks as requested.
10. Providing additional support as required to supporting assessments and other activities of REACH, including research tasks, and administrative and logistical support.
11. Reporting any security incidents to supervisor.
12. Maintain communication channels during the tasks, and directly inform the line manager and the task focal point if anything went wrong.
